North Texas Chambers of Commerce teamed with Texans For Tier One in support of Proposition 4

On Tuesday, October 20th the Dallas Regional Chamber hosted a press conference where North Texas Chambers of Commerce representatives joined Senator Florence Shapiro, State Representatives Dan Branch, Roberto Alonzo and Chris Turner to support passage of Proposition 4 which will be decided in the upcoming November 3rd election.

Representatives from the following North Texas Chambers were in attendance: Dallas Regional Chamber, Fort Worth, Arlington, Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber, Garland, Metrocrest, McKinney, North Dallas, and Richardson. Also, present were representatives of the Dallas Citizens Council and DOWNTOWNDALLAS.

As reported by the Dallas Morning News - Proposition 4 would provide millions of dollars for more “Tier One” universities to enhance scientific research.  Proposition 4 does not impose any new taxes and would bring more federal research and venture capital dollars to the state.

Seven Texas universities stand to gain with voter approval of Prop 4 including the University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Dallas.
