Welcome 2012 from Vince E. Puente, Chair, Small Business Advisory Committee

The Dallas Regional Chamber wants you to know… you belong here!

The new year is in full swing and as a small business owner, the Dallas Regional Chamber can help you keep your professional resolutions and reach your business goals.

Engagement in the Chamber is about more than just membership. Over the past year the DRC’s Small Business Initiative has grown into a full slate of programming and major resource for our region’s business community, including my own company. I had the pleasure of serving as Chair of the 2011 Small Business Advisory Committee and will continue in 2012, as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Above all, I am a small business owner and I can appreciate the time and resources it takes to be active in an organization like the DRC.

In 2012 I encourage you to engage in Small Business Initiative programming and take advantage of the many benefits the Chamber has to offer. Kicking off in January, the Small Business Speaker Series will feature David Cush, President & CEO of Virgin America Airlines. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain access to a leader in the airline industry and hear about the company’s record-setting growth and many major industry best-in-class awards. It’s also an opportunity to put to use one of the Chamber’s leading benefits. Networking with your peer business leaders was the number one choice among survey respondents in 2011 as the most desirable benefit of membership.

Also slated for the 2012 Small Business Initiative: enhanced networking programs like Coffee Cup Connections and Leads Over Lunch; opportunities to develop your business through the Small Business Seminar Series and the Unleash Your Productivity Webcast Series; access to leadership through the Speaker Series and 12@twelve lunches. Presented by Bank of America and programs sponsored by Microsoft, the Small Business Initiative’s slate of programming will give you and your company the advantage to succeed in 2012.

If you have questions about your membership benefits or how to engage in this initiative, please contact Kelle Marsalis, Director of Small Business Programs and Member Services, at (214) 712-1901 or kmarsalis@dallaschamber.org.
