The Texas HIT Workforce Development Project is currently seeking employers to place interns at their local businesses for a total of 12 weeks. In exchange for their work with your business the interns will receive an $8000 training stipend from the Texas HIT Workforce Development Project.
The goal of the Health Information Technology Internship program is to provide intensive, real-world training for physician practice, clinic, and rural hospital health information technology workers who need experience. After completing the program, interns will possess the sufficient skills and knowledge to immediately bring value to regional extension centers, clinics, hospitals or other healthcare settings needing health information technology expertise.
The application for Employers is now available and is posted below.
The deadline to apply for hosting interns is March 5, 2012. Anticipated start date for interns is April 10, 2012.
