Veasey and Garcia: The Debate for District 33

UPDATED 6/20/12

By John McCarley, Social Media Guy

We have exciting news! We are hosting a debate between Marc Veasey and Domingo Garcia for the newly formed 33rd Congressional District. The two will square off in a moderated Q&A style debate Friday, June 29 at the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Conference Center.

The 33rd District is the only district in DFW that encompasses both Dallas and Fort Worth.

Jay Barksdale, VP of Public Policy had this to say about the upcoming debate. “We are delighted to host these candidates as they battle for the Democratic nomination for the new 33rd Congressional District. In all likelihood the winner of this race will represent the 33rd district for years to come.  This will be a great opportunity for our business community to engage both candidates before one of them goes to Washington, DC.”

One Response to Veasey and Garcia: The Debate for District 33

  1. Since both of these leaders were actively involved in redistricting during these past two years their answers to these two questions would be critical to better understand their perspective:
    1) How did the final Congressional map that was approved for this election fail the residents of Texas?
    2) How can we improve this process for the next redistricting that will begin in 8 years?
