After six weeks and two rounds of close competition, LIFT/Literacy Instruction for Texas came out on top as winner of our Chalk the Vote Education Challenge.

“LIFT is thrilled to see such strong support through Chalk the Vote because by working together we can strengthen our community through literacy. Thanks to all who voted to raise awareness of education and literacy in North Texas,” said Lauren McCarthy, communications manager for LIFT.

LIFT won top prize of a Dallas Regional Chamber renewal membership, two days of caring from DRC staff, breakfast from the Original Pancake House and more. Junior Achievement of Dallas and Educational First Steps were also final round contestants.

Prairie Ventures and Tamar Wilner were first and second place winners respectively in the small business competition. The two organizations had the most people enter the contest and vote for the educational organization. The first place winner wins a DRC membership, a cruise for 75 people on Big D Cat Catamarans, a gift card from Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and more.

Other prizes include two-night weekend at the Sheraton Dallas, a DART Prize pack, State Fair of Texas Tickets, one-night at The Joule with breakfast at Charlie Palmers and a dinner cruise for two on Big D Cat Catamarans.

One Response to LIFT and Prairie Ventures both earned A’s in our Chalk the Vote Education Challenge

  1. LIFT is honored to partner with the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. We are tremendously grateful for all of the support that LIFT receives from such a broad spectrum of individuals, corporations and foundations concerned about literacy, specifically adult literacy. Thank you for the unique opportunity to introduce our services to even more North Texans. Stay tuned!

    Sincerely, Lisa Hembry – CEO/President
