You probably know the November election is a little more than two months away, but did you also know there are only 39 days left to register to vote? Starting tomorrow, Sept. 1, the Dallas Regional Chamber is launching Vote 2012, an initiative developed to encourage citizens to head to the polls and make their voice heard during the November election.
Our VOTE 2012 initiative includes billboards donated by Clear Channel Outdoor (shown below), a three-part video series, voter information blogs and social media outreach. In addition, myself and two other DRC staffers, Trisha Windham and Fred Guerra, have been sworn in as Volunteer Deputy Registrars; enabling us to take voter registration forms on behalf of the Dallas county registrar. During the next 39 days the DRC will host voter registration tables at several events including Park(ing) Day in Downtown Dallas on Friday, Sept. 21.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 9. For more information on the upcoming election or to register, visit www.votexas.gov. Dallas county residents may also apply in person at the Dallas County elections office located at 2377 N. Stemmons Fwy, Suite 820 Dallas, TX 75207. Early voting begins Oct. 22, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. See you at the polls!
