Economic Development Update

By Erica Flores, Manager, Economic Development

While summer is winding down, the Chamber’s economic development group is gearing up for a busy fall.  We’ve got a big office move, marketing trips, 2012 Dallas Regional Momentum Awards, Fall Welcome Reception, TechCrawl and a new employee.  As always, we’re working hard to support the Dallas region’s economic growth.  Read below to see what we’ve been up to.

The Blueprint for Prosperity Investors and DFW Marketing Team, hosted their 3rd Quarter meetings on September 5th.  Jennifer Crane with True Partners Consulting provided both groups with an update on economic development trends, incentive practices as well as a look at industries on the move.

In mid-August, Jessica Heer presented to the Headquarters Recruitment Committee a draft company communications plan that will focus on recruiting targeted companies to the DFW region.

Mike Rosa, SVP of Economic Development, participated in the TexasOne Mission to Chicago earlier this month.

Mike Rosa and Jessica Heer, Managing Director of Economic Development, traveled to Atlanta with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce in early August, meeting with consultants, brokers and site selectors to market the Dallas/Fort Worth region for business location.

Nancy Davis and Duane Dankesreiter have been hard at work organizing our upcoming move to Lincoln Plaza this fall.  A big thanks to our member for their gracious donations and support.  The DRC is expecting to be in our new location by late-October.

The Dallas Regional Momentum Awards Powered by Blueprint for Prosperity will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole.  We received a record number of applications this year and are excited to announce the award recipients and keynote speaker on September 17th. This event will be held in conjunction with our Fall Welcome Reception which will celebrate companies and executives who have recently joined the Dallas area business community.

About the Dallas Regional Chamber Economic Development Group

The Dallas Regional Chamber’s Strategic Plan, launched in 2010, identifies the DRC’s primary role: economic development. Every DRC initiative will support the Dallas region’s economic growth, thus fulfilling our mission:

Together, we will lead the Dallas region to become the most economically prosperous region — and the most desirable place to live and work — in the United States.

The DRC’s economic development team works vigorously to help support that mission.  Each month we’ll provide an update on these initiatives and projects that support our strategic plan goals.

  1. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads super fast for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
