Something New and Exciting
I would like you to meet Tiffany Bryan the Chamber’s new Director of Development. While starting a new job can be a stressful experience, this important transition doesn’t have to be full of tension and anxiety. Tiffany has the right strategies and a positive outlook as she steps into her new role. Read on to find out why Tiffany is excited about her new role as Director of Development
Do you like Scary Movies or Happy Endings?
Happy Endings for sure! They always leave me feeling hopeful and excited for the future!
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
“In order to succeed, we must learn to embrace anxiety inherent in life’s biggest moments. Great performers welcome pressure. Instead of trying to control or ease pressure, they use it as a kind of energy bar. Learn to live with the butterflies that come with high pressure situations.” John Elliot.
What season is your favorite? Why?
Summer is my absolute favorite! Being a west Texas girl, I’m use to t-shirts, shorts, and pony tails. For some reason or another I am most comfortable when the temperatures are extremely high. Less make-up, less fuss with hair and cool fitting fabrics make for fun days of summer!!!!
Give me an example of a time when your work group or department worked especially well with another work group or department to accomplish a goal?
Right now!!! It has been great being a part of a strategic plan that has feasible and attainable goals. Since being a part of the Chamber, I have had the opportunity to help each department raise funds to increase the overall investments for membership, events, and new initiatives (Blueprint for Prosperity). Working with each group has its challenges but overall is very fulfilling, especially when you look at the big picture related to the DRC goals for 2015. I truly believe that our organization makes a difference in so many people’s lives for a more profitable and desirable community.
Have you ever had a role in a team project where your role was not clearly defined? How do you handle this?
I am excited to be a part of the inaugural year for the Mayor Star Council. To be very honest, when we started, we had no idea what we were going to do. All we knew was that we wanted to make a difference. We wanted to help communities grow so that our kids could inherit a much better place to live, work, and play! Some people might chuckle and scratch their head at what we have been positioned to do. However, we have dug in and accomplished some pretty neat things. In addition, we have all made some really fabulous bonds with peers along the way.
Please stay tuned for our upcoming events and most importantly… our film depute!

Are you excited about your new role at the chamber? And can you describe what is it and why it’s important?
Are you kidding! I am ecstatic! Being a Director of Development is something that I have wanted to do for years. Being able to raise funds for a good cause is very rewarding. Now, I will not lie, the past 3 months have been very challenging, but give me just a few more months to get comfortable and I think I will have my stride down much better!
How would you describe the Chamber?
Productive, Valuable, Challenging, Growing!
