Today the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas announced the launch of the new Texas Cancer Plan. The Plan identifies the challenges and issues that affect our state and presents a comprehensive set of goals, objectives, and strategic actions to help inform and guide communities in the fight against cancer. The DFW region’s healthcare providers are leading the way in cancer treatment and research for new and better treatments (hopefully some day a cure!), but, as the plan outlines, it will take individual responsibility and community action to prevent the more than 100,000 new cancer diagnoses’ per year in the State of Texas.
