Leadership Programs Make October a Month of Giving Back

A core component of the Chamber’s Leadership programs is volunteer service and giving back to the community.  During the month of October, members of the Young Professionals and Leadership Dallas Alumni supported this mission by volunteering with several organizations, including the North Texas Food Bank, Education is Freedom, and Children’s Medical Center.

On October 25, Leadership Dallas Alumni visited Thomas Jefferson High School to talk to students with Education is Freedom about the path to a career path.  Alumni shared their stories of early jobs that they had, which included scooping ice cream, working at a fast food restaurant, and selling vacuums door to door.  They also shared stories about what led them to the career they have today and encouraged students to plan for their future and explore all options.  Over 30 students participated in the discussions.   Continue reading
